A Nanny will often work living in or out in order to provide structure and help to foster development through different phases of childhood. Nannies are hired to fully customize and cater to children and to act as an extension of the parents in support of children’s emotional and physical well-being.

BABY NURSE / NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST

This is a trained and experienced specialist that offers services pertaining to all aspects of the baby’s care. We provide Short Term and Long Term options. Feeding, bathing, and ensure cleanliness, maintaining meticulous logs for feeding and sleeping times. Our specialists help babies sleep well, advise on feeding and naps, and handle nighttime needs without disturbing parents. They also dress, diaper, and ensure safety, while maintaining cleanliness by restocking supplies, organizing, and cleaning baby items.

GOVERNESS

A specialized subset of a Nanny that is hired to direct the educational elements of children in a private household setting. She works with school-aged children (not babies.) She is essentially responsible for in-home tutoring of appropriate subjects, organizing outside activities that lend to educational development of the mind and creativity of the child, she assists parents, other tutors and nannies regarding the specific progress and goals of developmental phases.

FORMAL HOUSEKEEPER / MAID

If there are ornate details in a home, with special textiles and delicate china or items, it is recommended to hire a Formal Housekeeper. They will pay extra attention to detail and have knowledge of thorough cleaning processes beyond that of a regular housekeeper. If a residence is large enough to warrant more than one person on staff, the main staff member would be called the maid or the butler. These are Common roles in Estates and Luxury Homes.

LADY’S MAID

A woman hired to assist the lady of the household with her appearance, including make-up, hairdressing, clothing, jewelry and shoes. Provide breakfast or other meals in the lady’s preferred room; and draw a bath for the lady of the household. However, she would not be expected to dust and clean every small item as that is the job of a housekeeper.

BUTLER

In estates and formal residences, you’ll find this person offers services similar to that of a Valet, attending to the personal needs of the head of the household and the guests. In fully staffed residences, the work may be split among the staff and the Butler will likely be in charge of the dining room, wine cellar, and pantry.

LAUNDRESS

A woman who is employed to launder clothes and linens.

HOUSEMAN 

A man hired to perform the laborious tasks, heavy lifting and general maintenance work in a household. He is there to assist other staff members as needed, carry heavy items, set up equipment, fix machine related devices, clean the outside grounds, provide exterior maintenance, holiday and household decoration and installation, climbing ladders and simple gut cleaning.

DOMESTIC COUPLE

Male and Female team, sometimes a husband and wife that partner to provide care to Estates and Households. The duo will split the job duties consisting of interior and exterior work. The wife will typically take on cooking or assisting the Private Chef, serving, paying bills, while also assisting the housekeeper as needed. The Husband will arrange for the exterior care and heavy maintenance of the property. This couple will likely be appointed to training other staff members inside of the home, much like an estate or household manager, in accordance with the Employer’s preferences.

PRIVATE CHEF

Employed to handle procuring and designing menus as well as carrying out meal preparation for casual and fine dining experiences.

DRIVER

The primary function of this person (male or female) is to provide transportation for passengers from one location to another. They will use either their own vehicle or one supplied by their employer, and they must answer to the wants and needs of both their passengers and their employer.

CHAUFFUER

a man employed to drive a passenger motor vehicle, especially a luxury vehicle such as a large sedan, limousine or other luxury vehicle provided by employer. A woman employed to drive a passenger motor vehicle is a chauffeuse.

HOUSE MANAGER

is hired to keep things running smoothly in the employer's home. Common duties include grocery shopping, laundry, running errands, light tidying, making appointments, coordinating travel, handling household billing, maintaining cars, buying gifts on their employers' behalf, as well as overseeing other staff in the home, creating schedules for other employees, handling payroll, keeping receipts and vendor items organized, reporting directly to employers.

ESTATE MANAGER

Estate Manager is responsible for the bigger picture of the Estate scheduling maintenance and repairs, managing landscaping issues, maintenance of the grounds, managing staff, budgets, and large-scale renovations or construction projects inside and outside the homes, they’ll deal with vendors and handymen. They can coordinate on Staff Supervision, Performance Reviews of staff members, Annual Contract Negotiation, Budget and System Management, Employer Liaison (on behalf of the employer)

PROPERTY MANAGER

An individual that is hired by a property owner for the purposes of overseeing and managing daily operations of the property or properties. This person acts on behalf of the owner to preserve the value of the property while generating income for the owner. The obvious advantage to hiring a property manager is that it removes the need for the owner to be nearby and actively managing the property.

FAMILY ASSISTANT

A person hired to take on an array of duties for a busy family. This includes organizing family calendars, arranging travel, planning and preparing meals or assisting the other employees and providing childcare assistance if needed.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT (PA)

duties include administrative tasks such as logging expenses, organizing files and other structures of office or household items, accompanying employer to meetings, taking notes and answering calls, taking on personal tasks and errands, shopping and party planning as well as liase with others on behalf of the employer.
